U.S. Central Command published a statement Tuesday evening confirming it conducted a new wave of strikes in Iran, saying 'We have carried out a wave of strikes in Iran.' The announcement, as reported by The Zioneer, follows a five-hour wave of strikes CENTCOM completed earlier Tuesday across six Iranian sites.
U.S. Central Command confirmed Tuesday evening that it has carried out a new wave of strikes in Iran, a statement relayed by The Zioneer at 22:47 Jerusalem. The confirmation, which includes the direct quote 'We have carried out a wave of strikes in Iran,' follows a series of announcements from CENTCOM earlier in the evening starting at 21:50 Jerusalem, when the command first announced the new strikes and said a renewed naval blockade would take effect at 23:00 Jerusalem.
The first reports of the new strikes, at 21:50 Jerusalem, cited Israeli media outlets ynet and N13/Army Radio journalists. CENTCOM then specified that the strikes began at 22:00 Jerusalem and that the blockade would resume at 23:00. Earlier Tuesday, at 11:49 Jerusalem, CENTCOM completed a five-hour strike wave across six Iranian sites, including coastal defenses, missile and drone launch sites, and maritime capabilities in Bushehr, Chabahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas.
The U.S. campaign against Iran began after a drone attack on the oil tanker MT Kiko near the Strait of Hormuz, as The Zioneer reported. Over 300 targets have been hit across multiple rounds, with 50,000 U.S. troops deployed in the region.
The targets and scale of the latest wave have not yet been disclosed.
