The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Tuesday extended by five days the detention of 25-year-old Gur Lavi, initially arrested on suspicion of secretly filming women and a minor in fitting rooms, and now also suspected of raping another woman who came forward after police published his photo, according to i24NEWS.
The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Tuesday extended the detention of Gur Lavi by five days, according to i24NEWS. Lavi, a 25-year-old Tel Aviv resident, was initially arrested after police released his photo seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect who had secretly filmed influencer Shir Weiss in a Bershka fitting room at TLV Mall. During the investigation, police say they linked him to additional incidents: filming a minor in a fitting room and, separately, the rape of a young woman who contacted police after identifying him from his published image.
The new complainant gave testimony alleging that Lavi drugged and attempted to rape her after they met at a bar, as The Zioneer reported earlier today (12:12 Jerusalem). Police are investigating whether a date-rape drug was used. Lavi has denied the allegations, according to the reports. The case continues to develop as investigators examine further complaints and forensic evidence.
