The Zioneer reported on Tuesday, July 21, at 21:42 Jerusalem, that police had arrested a second suspect, a Bat Yam resident in his 20s, on suspicion of involvement in the fragmentation grenade attack at the Japnika branch in Kiryat Ono. That arrest was first reported by N12 and later confirmed by ynet. Earlier, on July 17, the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court extended the remand of the first suspect—an 18-year-old Bat Yam resident—by 12 days, as The Zioneer reported at 15:13 Jerusalem.
The grenade attack occurred in early July. The investigation has led to at least two arrests. The Zioneer has also covered a separate arson attempt at a Japnika branch in Haifa, where a suspect was released to partial house arrest.
It is not yet clear whether the seven-day extension applies to the first suspect or the second. The investigation continues.
