Disciplinary investigation against acting Civil Service Commissioner Roi Kahlon resumes after freeze

The probe, reportedly on suspicion of inflating his CV, was initially opened at the last moment of a High Court hearing on his appointment. The Attorney General recently appointed a supervising attorney, allowing the investigation to proceed.

The disciplinary investigation against acting Civil Service Commissioner Roi Kahlon has resumed after a freeze lasting more than a year, Amit Segal (N12) reports. The probe, which investigates suspicion that Kahlon inflated his CV, was opened abruptly at the final moment of a High Court hearing on his appointment by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara, had refused to defend the appointment in court, and announced the investigation just as the state's position was about to be rejected.

For over a year the investigation remained frozen, despite repeated requests from Kahlon and even the investigative body itself to move it forward. The Attorney General's office cited an inability to find a supervising attorney for the case. Several weeks ago, Baharav-Miara appointed Haifa District Attorney Hila Katz to oversee the investigation, and investigative actions have since resumed. Earlier this week, former acting State Attorney Dan Eldad, who was Kahlon's direct supervisor, gave testimony in the case.

No comment has been received from the Attorney General's office.
