New details have emerged after a tied-up donkey was found in the trunk of a car at the Tunnel checkpoint in Jerusalem around 08:00 Jerusalem time. As The Zioneer reported earlier, the discovery was made during a security inspection. The driver, a 28-year-old resident of Beitar Illit, told Channel 12 that he was taking the donkey to a farm in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood because it was ill. The donkey was handed over to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The driver was detained for questioning; police have not announced any charges.
