IDF Duvdevan special forces and the Shin Bet eliminated Muhammad Za'id, a wanted weapons dealer involved in terrorist activity, during an arrest raid in the village of Al-Yamun in the Menashe Brigade area, according to a joint IDF and Shin Bet statement. Za'id was considered armed and dangerous; he attempted to flee and posed a threat to the forces. He had previously supplied weapons to a terrorist who wounded two IDF soldiers seriously in 2025.
The joint IDF and Shin Bet statement, released Wednesday evening, details the elimination of Muhammad Za'id during a targeted arrest operation in Al-Yamun, a village west of Jenin in the Menashe Brigade sector.
According to the statement, Duvdevan and Shin Bet operatives surrounded a building where Za'id was hiding. During the arrest attempt, he attempted to flee and endangered the forces, leading to his elimination. The military assessed he had access to weaponry and was a significant threat.
The statement frames Za'id as a weapons dealer who supplied arms to a terrorist who shot and seriously wounded two IDF soldiers in 2025. The IDF and Shin Bet said they had been pursuing Za'id for some time before Wednesday's operation.
An earlier report from the Palestinian Health Ministry, cited in The Zioneer's background coverage at 17:32, identified Za'id as Muhammad Nazam Izzat Za'id (29) and reported that his body was taken into custody. The military has not yet commented on the body's seizure.
