An Education Ministry representative said that dropout youth in Judea and Samaria outpost farms tell officials they want to enlist but were barred from service due to participation in protests or other actions. The comment came during a Knesset Education Committee discussion on educational responses for dropout youth in the area.
During a Knesset Education Committee discussion on educational frameworks for dropout youth at outpost farms in Judea and Samaria, an Education Ministry representative said that teens frequently tell her they want to enlist in the IDF but were disqualified due to past participation in protests or other activities. 'Every time I meet the boys, there are always a few who say, 'I really want to enlist, but because I was at a protest or an action, they deleted me and I can't,' she said. The representative called on the IDF Education and Youth Corps representative present to collaborate on reaching these youths. The Welfare Ministry's hilltop youth official had previously told the same committee that teens arrive at these farms for varied reasons, from Zionism to an escape from troubled backgrounds, as The Zioneer reported.
