The disappearance of Eldar Dayan, 23, from Dimona has taken a new turn with the arrest of two local residents on suspicion of obstructing the investigation and conspiracy to commit a crime. The suspects, both in their 20s, were seen with Dayan in the Petah Tikva area on July 18 and were brought to the Beersheba Magistrate's Court on Tuesday for a remand extension.
Police are pursuing two parallel leads: a kidnapping with a criminal background, or a hit-and-run accident followed by obstruction of justice. The investigation began on July 17 when Dayan was reported missing after sending a WhatsApp message to his partner saying, 'You hear, there's a mess sweetie. I'll be out soon, heading back to town. We'll talk when I arrive.'
