This is the latest in a sequence of reports on the area. The first reports emerged at 22:54 Jerusalem on Monday, July 20, when Iran's Fars news agency reported explosion sounds near Sirik. Minutes later, N12's Asaf Rozentzweig, citing Iranian sources, confirmed three explosions. Security analyst Yair Goldblatt then cited local reports, and Iranian state broadcaster IRIB confirmed the blasts. Fresh reports of explosions in southern Iran were then reported at 00:10 Jerusalem on Thursday, July 23, as The Zioneer reported. The current report indicates the explosions are ongoing.
The Zioneer has covered a series of similar incidents in the Sirik area over recent weeks. On July 13, footage showed an explosion at Kohastak port. The same day, Goldblatt assessed that the blasts may be caused by IRGC missile launches at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, though that remains unverified. On July 15, explosions were reported on Sirik Island and in Bushehr.
