01 · THE DISPATCH

Sirens sounded again at 11:40 in the Gaza border communities of Nahal Oz and Alumim. According to Israeli reports, the alerts were quickly identified as a false alarm, the second such incident within minutes. The first sirens that went off at 11:36 were also confirmed as a false alarm. At 11:33, the first bulletin on this thread reported that rocket alert sirens had been activated shortly before 11:32, but by 11:33 the military confirmed the identification was false and the incident was over. The cause of the false alarm at 11:36 was attributed by the IDF to Israeli forces' activity in the area, as The Zioneer reported at 11:38. The cause of the 11:40 activation has not yet been confirmed but appears to be a recurrence of the same technical issue. The IDF instructed residents to exit shelters; no injuries or property damage have been reported.
