The victim of Thursday morning's fatal accident on Highway 65 has been identified as Hajar Nasr Kabha, a resident of the town of Ar'ara in the Wadi Ara region, according to Channel 12 reporter Or Ravid. Earlier today, at 11:53 Jerusalem, The Zioneer reported that a woman in her 30s was killed after she exited her vehicle to receive a police traffic ticket and was struck by a passing car on Highway 65 near the Iron Interchange (מחלף עירון). Magen David Adom paramedics pronounced her death at the scene. A second woman, 47, was lightly injured in the same incident. Initial reports from N12 cited a woman in her 30s exiting her car; within minutes, i24NEWS and N12 confirmed that the stop was for a traffic ticket, and the location was specified as the Iron Interchange.
The incident occurred on a major arterial route in northern Israel, a stretch of road that has seen previous serious accidents. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene, police said. As The Zioneer reported from the start, the circumstances of the crash — including why the victim exited her vehicle and the speed of the passing car — are under investigation by Israeli police. No further details about the driver or the traffic stop have been released.
