Firefighters control large blaze near Lifta, Highway 1

Firefighters have brought under control a large blaze that erupted near Lifta, below Highway 1, preventing its spread. Numerous firefighting teams worked to extinguish, contain, and protect the adjacent area. There is no further danger to hikers or road users, and crews will continue working to fully extinguish the remaining hotspots. Fire and Rescue Services urge the public to avoid lighting fires in open areas.
