A new report this morning (Friday) reveals that a friend who was in the apartment with Beniahu Razi during the fatal attack in Jerusalem was also assaulted by the assailants. According to the report, the friend attempted to reach Razi to help him, and was kicked, struck in the hand with a hammer, and stabbed in the hand by the attackers. Chairs were also thrown at the two men. The details add to the picture of the violence that unfolded in the Nahlaot neighborhood earlier this month.
The new development follows the filing of indictments today at 10:28 Jerusalem time against six suspects, including four minors and the victim's ex-girlfriend, on charges of intentional murder and aggravated assault. Police said the suspects have shown no remorse during the investigation. The Zioneer has been covering the case since its early stages: on July 12, the ex-girlfriend erupted in court; on July 22, exclusive footage showed teenagers fleeing the scene and attempting to dispose of the murder weapon; and on July 23, police arrested two additional suspects, including a relative of the main suspect, who remains at large.
As The Zioneer reported, the murder is believed to have been planned as a 'red cap' scheme, in which two women lured Razi to an Airbnb apartment, where additional suspects arrived and stabbed him. The ex-girlfriend is suspected of knowing about the plan and helping the suspects escape.
The main suspect in the case remains at large, and the investigation continues. The new details about the attack on the friend underscore the brutality of the incident.
