Security analyst Yair Goldblatt reported that a funeral was held Thursday for operatives of the pro-Iranian Hashd al-Shaabi militia who were killed in joint US-Saudi strikes in Iraq this week, according to a post on X.
Security analyst Yair Goldblatt reported Thursday evening that a funeral was held today for Hashd al-Shaabi operatives killed in joint US-Saudi strikes in Iraq earlier this week.
The operatives were among those killed in the strikes that targeted at least seven Hashd al-Shaabi positions across Iraq, including in Basra, Wasit, and the Nineveh Plains. The operation, which The Zioneer reported earlier this week, was a response to a wave of IRGC-directed drone attacks on Saudi energy infrastructure. At least 10 operatives were reported killed, with some US officials estimating up to 20 Iranian advisors also killed.
Goldblatt, a security and Middle East analyst, has been documenting the aftermath of the strikes, including sharing footage of the funeral.
