New surveillance footage from a gas station near the brawl scene in Petah Tikva shows Eldar Dayan, the 23-year-old missing from Dimona, exiting his vehicle normally and walking with two friends before the three split up, investigators told Israeli media. The footage, captured on the afternoon of July 18, does not show Dayan appearing threatened or distressed. Police have not determined why he subsequently went underground.
The footage strengthens the assessment that Dayan is not a kidnapping victim but fled after being involved in a brawl that escalated, according to police sources. The investigation has been transferred to the Central District, and two additional suspects were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of involvement in the brawl and obstruction of justice. A total of four suspects are now in custody. Dayan's mother, Shilat Na'im, expressed fear that someone is holding her son, but police believe he is alive and on the run.
