The attack occurred on Saturday evening, July 25, when a vehicle drove into a crowd in the Tiergarten area. Our initial reports on Saturday night identified the suspect as Abdul B., a 21-year-old German citizen of Lebanese origin with known Islamist links, and reported that a manhunt was underway. By Sunday morning, police had lowered flags to half-mast in memory of the victim, and the suspect remained at large. The Zioneer also reported on Saturday night that the suspect allegedly posted videos prior to the attack threatening German police.

The formal designation comes as German authorities continue their investigation. The suspect's pre-attack videos, which The Zioneer reported on Saturday, allegedly showed him threatening German police and expressing hostility toward Israel.
The suspect, Abdul B., remains at large and is considered dangerous and possibly armed. The manhunt continues. The exact number of wounded has been reported as 15–17, with some in critical condition.
