The overnight Holon attack is the latest in a series of grenade-throwing incidents in central Israel in recent weeks. The Zioneer has documented at least seven similar incidents in the Tel Aviv area and elsewhere since early July, including a stun grenade thrown near a residential building in Tel Aviv's Tzameret neighborhood on August 3, a grenade hurled at a medical center in Herzliya on August 5, and incidents in Kfar Shalem (July 9), Or Yehuda (July 13), Tzahala (July 19), Rehovot (July 27), and Kiryat Motzkin (August 3). All involved no casualties and are suspected to have criminal motives.
The motive for the Holon incidents remains unclear, and no suspects have been reported. Police have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected.
