Polgár, 50, is widely regarded as the greatest female chess player in history. She competed primarily against men, was ranked among the world's top ten players at her peak, and has defeated world champions. She is also a prominent Jewish figure in Hungary.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday. It remains unclear whether Polgár will accept the nomination.
