In response to the attack, Defense Minister Bezalel Smotrich ordered the Settlement Administration to expedite the establishment of the new settlement Shalem, near the attack site, and directed the Civil Administration to advance mapping and demolition of illegal structures in the area, as The Zioneer reported at 16:00 Jerusalem.
The military has not released the identity or motive of the attacker. The injured paratrooper was evacuated to a hospital in light condition.
