The IDF eliminated two platoon commanders over the weekend in precision strikes in the Gaza Strip — Muhammad Sa'id Ahmad Nimrouti, a Hamas commander who held numerous hostages in Hamas tunnels, and Mu'awiya Suleiman Saqr Ayadi, an Islamic Jihad commander who infiltrated Kibbutz Be'eri during the October 7 massacre and was involved in planting explosive devices. The military says both posed an immediate threat to troops.

01 · THE DISPATCH

The IDF confirmed Wednesday that it eliminated two platoon commanders in the Gaza Strip over the weekend — one from Hamas and one from Palestinian Islamic Jihad — in what the military described as a removal of an immediate threat to troops operating in the area under the ceasefire framework.

Muhammad Sa'id Ahmad Nimrouti, a Hamas platoon commander, infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre and took part in holding numerous hostages captive in Hamas tunnels, the IDF said. In a separate strike in the central Gaza Strip, the IDF killed Mu'awiya Suleiman Saqr Ayadi, a platoon commander in Islamic Jihad's Central Camps Brigade. Ayadi participated in the infiltration of Kibbutz Be'eri during the October 7 attack and was involved in planting explosive devices, according to the military.

The IDF stated that both terrorists had launched attacks against Israeli troops and civilians throughout the war, particularly in recent weeks, and posed an immediate threat to soldiers. The military said that prior to the strikes, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.

The operation came as IDF troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in Gaza in accordance with the ceasefire agreement. As The Zioneer reported earlier, the military has been conducting precision strikes against senior operatives who violated the ceasefire terms or posed a renewed threat.
