The IDF said it killed Muhammad Sa'id Ahmad Nimrouti, a Hamas platoon commander who held numerous hostages captive in Hamas tunnels, in a strike in the southern Gaza Strip. In a separate strike in the central Gaza Strip, it killed Mu'awiya Suleiman Saqr Ayadi, an Islamic Jihad platoon commander who infiltrated Kibbutz Be'eri on October 7. The military described both as posing an immediate threat.
The IDF announced on Wednesday the elimination of two platoon commanders involved in the October 7, 2023 attacks. Muhammad Sa'id Ahmad Nimrouti, a Hamas platoon commander, was killed in a precision strike in the southern Gaza Strip. According to the military, Nimrouti participated in holding numerous hostages captive in Hamas tunnels. In a separate operation in the central Gaza Strip, Mu'awiya Suleiman Saqr Ayadi, an Islamic Jihad platoon commander who infiltrated Kibbutz Be'eri during the October 7 massacre, was also eliminated. The IDF stated that Ayadi was involved in planting explosive devices. The military described both operatives as posing an immediate threat to troops operating in Gaza and said steps were taken to mitigate civilian harm, including precise munitions and aerial surveillance.
The IDF said troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat. As The Zioneer reported earlier today, this operation follows a pattern of strikes against mid-level commanders who participated in the October 7 attacks — the most recent prior operation eliminated a Hamas Nukhba commander involved in the Kisufim infiltration on June 7.
