The Israel Defense Forces said it struck targets in the southern Gaza Strip yesterday, killing two operatives of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The slain men were identified as Iyad Muhammad Abd al-Aziz Nafel, a company commander in the terror group, and Ahmad Abd al-Hamid Hamad Ma'ruf, a cell leader who had carried out rocket attacks against Israel. According to the military, both were in the final stages of planning imminent attacks on IDF troops.
