TL;DR

The IDF announced it killed Hussein Qadra and Mohammed Farra last Wednesday in a precision Gaza strike. Qadra headed a Hamas-run financial network that moved more than half a billion NIS to the terror group's military wing, funding salaries and attacks in violation of the ceasefire. The military said steps were taken to avoid civilian harm.

01 · THE DISPATCH

The IDF confirmed Sunday morning the elimination of two senior financial operatives in the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror networks, struck last Wednesday in a precision attack in the Gaza Strip.

Hussein Qadra, identified by the IDF as the head of a Hamas-run financial transfer network, and Mohammed Farra, an Islamic Jihad operative working alongside him, were killed in the strike. According to the military, the pair oversaw a network of dozens of couriers and money exchangers operating from Turkey and inside the Gaza Strip, channeling more than half a billion NIS to Hamas's military wing.

The funds were used, the IDF said, to pay salaries to Hamas operatives and finance attacks against Israeli forces and civilians — activity that the military said violated the standing ceasefire agreement. The operation follows a series of targeted eliminations of Hamas finance figures in recent weeks. As The Zioneer reported on June 10, the IDF and Shin Bet confirmed the killing of Khader Jamasi, head of a separate Hamas funds transfer network, and his deputy in northern Gaza. Wednesday's strike adds Qadra and Farra to the list of operatives tied to the organization's financial infrastructure.

The IDF stated that before the strike, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. The Southern Command remains deployed in the area under the ceasefire terms, the military said. The announcement did not specify whether any additional operatives were detained or eliminated in connection with the same network.
