The interception comes less than a day after a similar incident on Monday, July 27, when the IDF intercepted two drones near the same border. As The Zioneer reported at 11:02 Jerusalem on Monday, the IDF downed the two drones using a fighter jet and electronic warfare. Jordan's military separately confirmed it intercepted two drones inside its territory. In both incidents, the drones did not cross into Israel and no alerts were activated.

On June 13, the IAF intercepted a hostile drone over Metula after it crossed from Lebanon.
