At 15:39 Jerusalem, the IDF Arabic spokesperson issued evacuation warnings for the village of al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon, instructing residents to move at least 1,000 meters away and citing Hezbollah ceasefire violations. Minutes later, at 16:06, the IDF elaborated that al-Mansouri lies within the security zone under IDF control and accused the Lebanese army of violating the ceasefire by establishing a checkpoint in the area under the cover of the evacuation. The military stated that civilians were evacuated to protect their safety.
The evacuation orders came after weeks of IDF operations in and around al-Mansouri. As The Zioneer has reported, the IDF conducted controlled demolitions in the village on July 29 and August 3, with security analyst Yair Goldblatt describing the village as being "erased." The IDF has not commented on those demolitions. Al-Mansouri has been a focal point of operations since June, with multiple strikes targeting Hezbollah infrastructure.
The accusation against the Lebanese army introduces a new friction point in the ceasefire framework. Israel has previously criticized the Lebanese Armed Forces for failing to prevent Hezbollah activity in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese army has not yet responded to the IDF's accusation.
It remains unknown whether the Lebanese army checkpoint remains in place and what additional measures the IDF may take in response.
