01 · THE DISPATCH

The IDF reported Monday afternoon that two combat soldiers were wounded in an explosive device incident in southern Lebanon — one seriously and one moderately. The families have been notified; the military stated there were no additional casualties.

This is the latest in a series of troop casualty events in southern Lebanon. As The Zioneer previously reported, recent weeks have seen multiple incidents involving explosive drones and encounters with Hezbollah operatives. On June 26, four troops were wounded in a Hezbollah encounter in Beit Ya'hon; earlier in June, 17 soldiers were wounded in a single overnight event, including two seriously.

The incident Monday occurred during ongoing IDF operations on the northern border aimed at dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure and enforcing the security zone south of the Litani River. The nature of the explosive device and exact location have not been disclosed by the military.
