Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf escalated his rhetoric, warning that miscalculations by the US will 'reset the entire board,' explode energy infrastructure and markets, and create a quagmire that Washington will be stuck in for years. 'You will see a different Iran,' he said.
In a new verbal broadside, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf warned that US miscalculations could trigger a catastrophic escalation. 'Wrong strategies and impulsive decisions will reset the entire board for the worse, explode energy infrastructure and markets and create an endless quagmire that you will be stuck in for years,' Ghalibaf said, according to Iranian state-linked outlets. 'You will see a different Iran,' he added.
The threat continues a pattern of increasingly confrontational statements from Ghalibaf. As The Zioneer previously reported (June 7), he declared that US and Israeli assets in the region are no longer immune from attack, citing the naval blockade on Iran and Israeli activity in Lebanon. Over the following days, he argued that diplomacy and military action are complementary (June 8) and warned that Iran speaks 'other languages far more fluently' (June 9).
The latest remarks appear aimed at deterring any US or Israeli escalation while signaling that Tehran considers its military options credible. Ghalibaf did not specify what specific actions might trigger the scenario he described.
