The statement adds specificity to earlier IRGC claims Thursday morning, which initially reported intensive drone strikes on three US military sites—Doha base, Ali al-Salem, and Arifjan camp—under the 23rd phase of what it calls operation "Thunder," and a separate appeal to Kuwaiti citizens asserting attacks on US-held areas only.
The IRGC's claims first appeared at 07:28 Jerusalem on Thursday. In the initial version, the IRGC said it targeted US defense systems, drones, helicopters, and buildings at Ali al-Salem and Camp al-Adiyeri, causing casualties and heavy damage, while denying any violation of Kuwaiti sovereignty. A subsequent version at the same time specified three bases and the operation name. The latest statement now includes explicit assertions of casualties among US soldiers and damage to aircraft. All claims originate from a single source—the IRGC—and remain unverified by independent parties.
The statements come amid ongoing US-Iran military exchanges. As The Zioneer reported on July 9, the US confirmed strikes on IRGC bases and drone positions in Bushehr, Iran. On June 7, the IRGC claimed strikes on Ramat David Airbase, and the US placed its military on alert. The IRGC's latest statement cites US attacks on Iran, including alleged killing of children in Minab, as justification.
