TL;DR

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy issued an official statement Thursday claiming it has restored transit through the Strait of Hormuz to approximately 50% of pre-war levels, and warning that US military interference in setting transit routes will delay further reopening and draw a 'strong response.' The statement, attributed to the IRGC Navy, asserts that only vessels complying with Iranian-designated security rules receive passage authorization.

01 · THE DISPATCH

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy on Thursday claimed it has restored transit through the Strait of Hormuz to roughly half of pre-war levels, in a statement that simultaneously threatened the United States over its role in the waterway.

The statement, published by the IRGC Navy, praised its fighters for 'proving that the outcome of battle is determined not by the quantity of weapons but by the strength of faith,' and asserted that the force has 'strengthened its control over the Strait of Hormuz and secured it over the past two weeks.' It claimed that gradual reopening has brought vessel traffic to approximately 50% of pre-war movement, and that the IRGC Navy intends to further increase the number of ships receiving passage authorization — provided they comply with security rules set by the Islamic Republic.

The IRGC explicitly warned that 'the adventurism of the terrorist American army and its interference in determining transit routes' will face a strong response and will delay the gradual reopening, endangering the interests of states that rely on the strait.

As The Zioneer has reported, the IRGC declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to Israel-linked vessels on June 20, and has since asserted full control over transit routes, mandating designated paths and active AIS for all vessels. US Energy Secretary acknowledged on June 30 that the strait remains effectively closed, with tankers relying on US Navy escort. The current claim of 50% restoration comes from a single IRGC source and remains unverified by independent maritime tracking data.
