According to the joint statement, Bittawi was involved in directing, financing, and executing attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces. He also maintained ties with Hamas in Gaza and abroad. Bittawi is a relative of Nur Bittawi, the commander of the Jenin terror organization who was eliminated by Israeli forces in May 2025.
The operation was conducted by Yamam counter-terror unit, IDF troops led by the Menashe Brigade, and the Israel Police, based on intelligence from Shin Bet and Military Intelligence. Security forces said they will continue operating to counter terrorism and maintain security in Judea and Samaria.
