In a fresh report Tuesday evening, senior Israeli officials told Ynet that members of Vice President JD Vance's circle are actively working to prevent a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Donald Trump. The officials said the opposition stems from concerns that Netanyahu would use the meeting to press for a more aggressive U.S. stance on Iran.
The report comes hours after Vance's office denied similar claims, calling them "100% fake news." The Zioneer reported earlier Tuesday that Vance's office had issued a flat denial of any effort to block the meeting.
According to the Ynet report, Netanyahu is seeking to combine a U.S. trip with the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham on July 27, but will not travel unless a meeting with Trump is confirmed. The Prime Minister's Office has not commented.
