Journalist Eli Tzipori has committed in a court-approved settlement to cease using the phrase "Al Jazeera 12" to refer to Channel 12, and clarified he does not believe the channel is actually Al Jazeera or linked to it. The commitment was given the force of a Tel Aviv District Court ruling.
The mediated settlement, reported at 15:13 Jerusalem time, follows a defamation lawsuit filed by Channel 12 against journalist Eli Tzipori. As The Zioneer reported earlier at 13:06, the agreement includes Tzipori's commitment to stop using the pejorative label "Al Jazeera 12" and instead adopt the term "Tzar'ala 12" (Poison 12), without paying financial compensation. The current update adds that Tzipori also explicitly states he does not believe Channel 12 to be connected to Al Jazeera, and that the commitments were given the force of a Tel Aviv District Court ruling.
