At approximately 08:22 Jerusalem, initial reports emerged of a shooting attack near the community of Havat Gilad in Samaria. The IDF confirmed receiving a report at 08:30, and Magen David Adom (MDA) began treating casualties. According to MDA's final update at 10:05, one man, approximately 30, was killed, and two others were wounded — one seriously (20) and one moderately (25) — and evacuated by helicopter with IDF medical support.
The incident began when a group of Israeli hikers was attacked near the village of Tel, close to Havat Gilad. During the confrontation, a security officer from Havat Gilad had his weapon snatched and was wounded by gunfire, according to reports from Channel 14. MDA initially reported four wounded, including one unconscious, before revising the number to three total casualties after the death was declared at 09:12.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that three Palestinians were seriously wounded by gunfire in the incident: a 19-year-old, a 34-year-old, and a 41-year-old.
The IDF imposed a cordon on the village of Tel and some entrances to Nablus, and a manhunt for the assailants is ongoing.
