01 · THE DISPATCH

Overnight Wednesday to Thursday, Bedouins vandalized a memorial corner for IDF Golani soldier Yehuda Peretz in the Negev community of Rethmim for the second time, according to local reports. The perpetrators damaged equipment, burned wooden benches, and defaced memorial signs and the Israeli flag. A police complaint has been filed.

The vandalism follows a first defacement of the same memorial earlier this week, which The Zioneer reported on Thursday morning. That incident was part of a broader series of attacks on Israeli sovereignty symbols in the Rethmim area: the Israeli flag was torn from an October 7 fallen soldiers outpost memorial on Wednesday morning, and Bedouin tribe graffiti was sprayed on the community's entrance sign. The defacement of Yehuda Peretz's memorial is now the second such attack on this specific site within days.
