In an exclusive statement to Israel News Channel, MK Tali Gottlieb (Likud) accused Defense Minister Israel Katz of endangering her, conducting a 'saison' against her, and turning her in to the Attorney General. She also said claims that Prime Minister Netanyahu does not want her in Likud are an attempt to drive a wedge between them.
The statement, made exclusively to Israel News Channel, marks the latest chapter in the ongoing clash between MK Gottlieb and the security establishment. Gottlieb has been embroiled in a legal battle after allegedly exposing a Shin Bet officer's identity; she has since sought parliamentary immunity. The Knesset granted her immunity in June, but the High Court is set to hear petitions against it this week. In her statement, Gottlieb also rejected claims that Netanyahu wants to distance her from Likud, calling them a wedge-driving tactic by the left. The defense minister's office has not yet responded to the allegations.
