In early July, Ben Gvir offered Gotliv to join his party, as The Zioneer reported on July 6. Gotliv, a vocal advocate for judicial reform and religious-sector rights, had previously stated she is loyal to the Likud party and the prime minister, responding to speculation that Netanyahu wanted to distance her from the party (The Zioneer, July 12). In June, she said she would demand the Justice portfolio if re-elected.
The meeting has intensified speculation that Gotliv may be preparing to leave Likud and join Otzma Yehudit, a move that could strengthen Ben Gvir's political camp.
