In May, police detained a school principal in East Jerusalem after raiding her institution and seizing materials classified as incitement. Sukkot has argued that publicly funded schools should not receive state money if they promote violence or hostility toward Israel. Critics have condemned the inspections as provocative. The incident remains under review by police.
