Magen David Adom teams reported that no passengers required urgent medical treatment after the incident, including two who had been bleeding. Following the attempted hijacking, Prime Minister Netanyahu and US President Trump are expected to speak in the coming hours, according to reporter Libby Alon (Channel 14).
New details emerged Wednesday evening regarding the attempted hijacking of the Flydubai flight earlier in the day. According to a first report by News_il_h, one of the Israeli citizens who subdued the suspect on board is an Israeli Air Force fighter pilot. Magen David Adom teams that waited near the aircraft after it landed confirmed that no passengers required urgent medical attention, including two who had been bleeding, as reported by Dean Fisher (N12) and later by Channel 14.
The incident occurred on Wednesday aboard flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. According to information gathered by The Zioneer, the cockpit experienced a stabbing and the aircraft went into a steep dive. Data reported by journalist Amichai Stein showed that between 08:22:07 and 08:22:36 Israel time, the plane dropped from approximately 9,411 meters to 5,105 meters—a descent of roughly 4,300 meters in just 29 seconds. Dean Fisher later reported that the cockpit rudder was torn off during the descent, and the pilots, who were coincidentally on the flight, landed the plane under extreme conditions at an airport in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Passengers and crew intervened and subdued the suspect.
Magen David Adom and Ben Gurion Airport clinic teams were deployed in advance to provide medical checks to the returning passengers. After the flight arrived in Israel, MDA reported that no one needed urgent medical treatment. Following the attempted hijacking, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump are expected to speak in the coming hours, Channel 14 reporter Libby Alon reported.
The identity and motive of the suspect remain under investigation.
