During police questioning, he confessed that he intended to stab an IDF soldier and be killed, saying he wished to die as a martyr. According to police, before leaving home he kissed his mother's hand, took a kitchen knife, and hid it near the settlement. A reconstruction led officers to the weapon. The suspect initially claimed he was looking for water. Police will request an extension of his remand.
