MK Zvi Sukkot (Otzma Yehudit) faced a heightened security threat Thursday after a suspect told him 'I will kill you when we meet,' according to Israeli media. The threat led to a dramatic increase in the MK's security detail.
The Zioneer reported earlier Thursday that an East Jerusalem resident, 25, was arrested on suspicion of sending death threats and images of weapons and ammunition to Sukkot. The latest reports appear to provide additional details on the nature of the threat, indicating the suspect also issued a verbal death threat.
In a separate incident earlier in the day, a resident of the Shuafat neighborhood was arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot Sukkot and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, as The Zioneer reported. The suspect in that case reportedly stated he always carries a weapon and moves freely in Judea and Samaria.
The investigation into the threats is ongoing.
