Israeli police arrested three additional suspects Tuesday evening in connection with the series of shootings and grenade-throwing attacks on businesses in central Israel, according to a police statement. The suspects, all residents of the Gush Dan region, include an 18-year-old and two in their 30s. They were taken for questioning.
The arrests expand the investigation that began earlier Tuesday with the capture of a 40-year-old suspect, as first reported by The Zioneer at 20:15 Jerusalem. The initial arrest was followed by the detention of three more suspects, all announced at 20:15 Jerusalem, according to multiple Israeli news outlets. The probe has targeted a wave of attacks on businesses, including Japnika restaurant branches, in the Gush Dan and central Israel area.
The Zioneer has reported extensively on a surge in grenade and shooting incidents across central Israel. On Tuesday afternoon, two suspects aged 17 and 19 were arrested in connection with a fragmentation grenade blast in south Tel Aviv. Earlier this month, police arrested three suspects in a grenade attack linked to a protection racket in Kafr Qara, and last month, three suspects were arrested over a grenade explosion that wounded five in Or Yehuda.
Police have not yet disclosed the specific roles of the three suspects arrested Tuesday evening or the exact incidents they are suspected of involvement in. The investigation remains ongoing.
