This evening, police confirmed for the first time that Avior Sasson, 17, a suspect in the murder of Beniahu Razi, remains at large more than two weeks after the killing. The announcement came as new exclusive footage from journalist Daniel Amram was published, showing the group of youths fleeing the scene and attempting to dispose of the murder weapon.
Earlier Wednesday, the police investigation unfolded in stages. At 17:53 Jerusalem, police issued an initial public appeal for help locating Sasson, describing him as wearing a white shirt and black pants, 1.70 m tall with dark eyes and short black hair, and warning that aiding him is a criminal offense. Minutes later, at 18:06, Channel 12 reported the appeal. At 18:20, police published Sasson's photo and disclosed that he had been invited to the scene by the victim's ex-girlfriend, Agam Tzrafi, and was recorded fleeing the area. At 19:56, the exclusive footage captured one suspect saying, "We hammered him with a hammer in the back, in the legs, let's get out of here."
As The Zioneer reported on July 15, the court allowed publication of the names of two women suspected of involvement in the murder: Shilat Huta (19) and Mazal Linor Shashon (50). Police have said most other participants have been arrested.
Sasson's whereabouts remain unknown. Police have not provided additional details on the search efforts.
