TL;DR

Israeli police seized tens of millions of shekels from the accounts of a public company and some of its senior officials as part of the ongoing Histadrut corruption investigation, Channel 14 reports.

01 · THE DISPATCH

Monday evening, Channel 14 reported that Israeli police seized tens of millions of shekels from the accounts of a public company and its senior executives as part of the ongoing Histadrut corruption investigation. The company's name has not been released. The amount is smaller than the record 183 million shekel seizure in the separate Menora insurance case, which The Zioneer reported on earlier Monday.

Earlier Monday at 19:01 Jerusalem, a series of reports emerged: journalist Adar Gitzis reported seizures from a public company (v6), Channel 12 reported on Menora seizures (v10), and by 19:01 the police had confirmed a combined seizure of 183 million shekels from Menora and its executives, calling it unprecedented in the force's history (v11, v12). The corroboration evolved from a single source to multiple newsrooms and an on-record police statement within the same hour.

The Histadrut probe, dubbed 'Hand Shakes Hand', is a separate investigation from the Nahariya municipal corruption case, also covered by The Zioneer. The Menora seizure involved allegations of bribery to secure insurance policies for the Histadrut. The current seizure targets a different public company, part of the same broader probe.

The name of the public company whose accounts were seized remains undisclosed, and it is not yet clear whether the executives involved have been summoned for questioning. The investigation continues.
