A police source said that the fragmentation grenade and shooting attacks on Japnika branches nationwide are revenge for the chain's owner Barak Abramov 'choosing a side' in the criminal underworld. The source warned that if the wave is not stopped, 'heads will roll.'
Police have added a new detail to the wave of attacks on Japnika branches: the fragmentation grenade and shooting incidents are revenge for the chain's owner Barak Abramov 'choosing a side' in the criminal underworld, a police source told The Zioneer. The source warned that if the wave is not stopped, 'heads will roll.'
The Zioneer first reported the attacks at 06:46 Jerusalem, when a grenade was thrown at a Japnika branch in Afula. Within the hour, the desk published a series of updates covering additional attacks in Netanya, Tel Aviv, and elsewhere, and police confirmed the incidents were linked to a dispute between the Mosli and Jarushi crime families. By 09:34, a police source had stated that the attacks were an attempt to pressure Abramov.
The attacks are part of an ongoing criminal feud between the Mosli and Jarushi families, as The Zioneer reported. The feud has seen nearly 10 shooting and grenade incidents over the past 72 hours, according to earlier reports.
The police source's claim that the attacks are revenge for Abramov 'choosing a side' has not been independently verified. The identity of the faction behind the attacks remains unclear, and it is not yet known whether the violence will continue.
