On Monday, August 3 at 13:43 Jerusalem, police announced the conclusion of the investigation and released video footage of the suspects in the Nahlaot neighborhood alleyways shortly before the killing. The main suspect, Avior Sasson, was arrested on July 28 after a weeklong manhunt that ended in a taxi near Jerusalem. Earlier that week, police arrested several relatives of Sasson. The investigation also revealed that an Israel Prison Service officer allegedly had a romantic relationship with Sasson's brother and helped him evade capture. On August 1, it was reported that Sasson had been indicted for violent offenses in 2024 and has maintained his right to silence since his arrest.
During the investigation, Sasson told investigators that he acted in self-defense, claiming that Razi pulled a knife first.
