Federal prosecutors on Friday disclosed new details about the alleged plot by Jessica Bowi, the Albany woman arrested August 19 on charges of planning an ISIS-inspired bomb attack on the New York State Capitol. According to prosecutors, Bowi swore allegiance to ISIS, photographed the building, and told associates she intended to cause destruction, murder lawmakers, and 'disrupt the U.S. government.' She was taken into custody after taking possession of an explosive device.
The development follows an earlier unsealing of an indictment, as reported by The Zioneer earlier Friday, which charged Bowi with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. That indictment alleged Bowi planned to kill 100 people using a device disguised as a food delivery, according to court documents.
Bowi remains in federal custody. The investigation is ongoing.
