A protest convoy is causing traffic slowdowns Wednesday evening on Highway 1 heading toward Tel Aviv and on the Ayalon Highway from the Rishon LeZion interchange toward Tel Aviv, reporter Dan Fisher (N12) reported at 20:04 Jerusalem. The demonstration is part of a broader wave of anti-government protest convoys that have been active across central and northern Israel since Wednesday afternoon. Earlier in the evening, similar convoys blocked Route 1 near Latrun, and caused slowdowns at the Ra'anana Junction and in the Haifa area. Police earlier reported approximately 1,000–1,200 vehicles participating in convoys nationwide. No arrests or confrontations with police have been reported in this particular convoy.
