The Arava Rescue Unit has sent two teams to search for a family of hikers in Nahal Gov, in the southern Arava region. Nadav Eilon of the unit told N12 that the mother of the family, who remained behind for the night, received a message from the group that they were in the middle of the trail and feeling exhausted. She alerted the police, who mobilized the rescue unit. Two teams are currently in the field trying to locate them.
Earlier today, The Zioneer reported (13:03) on a search for a father and his six children, aged 9 to 19, who went missing in the same area, based on a Ynet report. The current N12 report cites a family of six, with the mother not among the hikers. The exact number and composition of the missing hikers has not been independently confirmed. The rescue operation is ongoing.
