Maj. (res.) Ben Yaakov Savo, a reservist commander in the Hasmonean Brigade, said Wednesday that he was prevented from speaking at the Supreme Court hearing on the detention law, which governs arrests of Haredi draft evaders.
According to Savo, the defense invited him to testify about conditions on the ground. When he arrived, he said the courtroom was full of judges who were 'smug and arrogant' and 'cracking jokes' with left-wing activists, including Eliad Shraga, a left-wing activist. Savo said the judges were laughing while the audience remained in shock.
'They could have spared a few jokes and jokes from Eliad Shraga and let me speak for a minute,' Savo said.
