A large-scale Russian air attack on Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine killed at least two people and wounded 16, according to reports.
A large-scale Russian air attack struck Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine early Thursday, killing at least two people and wounding 16, according to reports. The attack comes hours after The Zioneer reported that a massive ballistic missile assault on Kyiv had caused fires across the city overnight (Thu 02:08 Jerusalem).
The Zioneer first reported the overnight attack at 02:08 Jerusalem, citing a Reuters report carried by N12, describing a combined missile and drone strike on Kyiv. By the same time, further reports specified the attack involved ballistic missiles and had started fires in multiple locations. The current update — at least two killed and 16 wounded in Kyiv and across Ukraine — is the first casualty figure to emerge from this wave of strikes.
As The Zioneer has reported in recent weeks, Russia has intensified its aerial campaign against Ukrainian population centers. On June 15, a massive overnight assault with roughly 74 missiles and over 600 drones killed at least eight in Kharkiv and Kyiv, and five rescue workers were killed in a double-tap strike in Kharkiv (Mon 15 Jun, 14:53 Jerusalem). On June 8, a Russian Shahed drone hit a bus station in Zaporizhzhia, killing two and wounding 15.
The reported casualty figures remain unverified by independent sources. The type and number of munitions used in this attack have not been specified, and details on interception rates or damage to infrastructure — factors that have varied widely in recent strikes — have not yet been released.
